“The Veil never fully conceals nor fully reveals; they allow for a state of permanent transience. The Veil covering La Pudicizia (Modesty) is an illusion itself mimicking the translucent fabric, while being pure marble, and yet a painting. The Veil between the sea and the sky, they meet but never touch. The Veil of sweet Amalfi lemons being bitter and sour. The Veil of the chess pieces being transparent glass, yet never knowing the opponent’s next move. The Veil placed over my memory as I tried to recreate the terrace of infinity. The Veil between the paint and the canvas underneath.”
